Cultural Bedlam
For those who have been to the capital of culturally rich state of Rajasthan, Jaipur, I do not have to say how infectious the vibrant, colourful, old world charm of the place is. Shopping in Jaipur also comes in the top things to do here and the thing that bargaining rules make the shopping attractive as well as challenging to many. Things to shop are handicrafts, arts, Rajais, miniature painting, tea boutiques etc.
Nightlife in Jaipur cannot be compared to the wild parties and all night grooves which typically haunt the great mega cities. Arts night and traditional dance recitals and other such related activities do have a place on the nightlife in Jaipur however.
Now, moving to the Restaurants in Kolkata in the East, I’m suddenly reminded of the similarity and differences between the two capitals. Of course, shopping in Jaipur and shopping in Kolkata are different things altogether but bargaining and getting a part of the cultural taste is alike in both cases. While nightlife in Jaipur is pretty tame, restaurants in Kolkata range from the posh to the preferred. Peter Cat, Tangerine, Grain of Salt, are the restaurants in Kolkata that are worth tying out.
